From what I’ve read in most Canadian media — as well as the comments that invariably follow — most Canadians are dismissing this as an issue… thanks in large part to the support Trudeau showed for the Syrian refugees Canada relocated here. I’m sure it’ll still have some impact on the election, but the more the Tories and the NDP try to work it, the harder it’s going to be for them to find continued support for this as an “issue”. We Canadians tend to be a more forgiving lot if the situation warrants it, and I think that probably holds here.
