I’m sure there are times when this strip must come across as a facile sit-com, with all the world’s problems solved in 22 minutes or less (or it’s free!), but sometimes that’s just the nature of the beast. This doesnt really resolve much for Mik just yet, but it gets him a little closer, I think — or at least I hope so.

And Dave? Yeah, we’ll be keeping him around. (That’ll make one of my readers real happy. 🙂 ) There’s a bit more to this boy as well worth exploring at some point, but for now we’ll leave him as Mik’s plaything and see how things sort out from there.

As I wrote earlier, this was originally intended as a facile little look at sex and fetishes, but as my characters are usually wont to do, they decided to take it in another direction… but still, this is a conversation worth having, IMHO. When it comes to hitting the sheets, I doubt there’s anyone out there without a fetish of some kind… those little things, spoken or not, acted upon or not, that get us to That Point. I’ve known people who, as my friend Randy says, “let their freak flag fly” and do so proudly and as visibly as possible — and I’ve known others who bury them so deep that just mentioning them is a source of angst and trepidation.

But isnt that part of communication in any relationship? Your partner may not be into whatever it is you are, but certainly letting him or her (or them) know at least clears the space between you for the opportunity to talk about and maybe even indulge in it. And note what Dave’s said: you dont have to indulge every time — just often enough to make it special. Just remember: keep it safe and keep it sane. And remember that fantasies are just that: fantasies. Sometimes they dont adapt well to the real world. So if your partner says stop, you stop. If you say stop, your partner stops. Like so many other things in life, sex should be fun… but not utterly mindless.

Okay, we got something *really* special in the works lined up next. I dont know if it’ll be a single panel or a storyline. I guess we’ll find out together…
