  1. Wow. First reaction is sadness. You need to do what feels right and if this isn’t working for you, time for a change. It will be missed.

  2. Thank you Sean, for everything! May you find success and happiness in everything you turn your mind to. Of course, I and all your fans will miss you and the boys (and girls!) But you know your mind and your health better than I. Please take care and enjoy your life!

    Love you!

    -Sandy

  3. First, are the current story lines actually finished?
(I’m a greedy little sadistic cuss word)
Second, I wish it were not so! (see parentheses above)
Third, but in no way least, I know your health has been a challenge and you are moving. I’m sad we have not met in person yet.

Your commentary on our world in that form as well as the escapism will be missed.

Wishing you all the best in the world! And you better keep in touch!!!!

    • Yes, they are. Some of you may remember what happened to Eddie and André during their visit to Switzerland, and others with longer memories will remember the dream sequence Elliot had during his 35th birthday in which he turns 70, and an equally aged Doc tells him that two of them are all that’s left of the gang.

  4. I will probably ache a little every morning as I check for this quiet funhouse mirror of sanity to refresh me for the day. But the overwhelming feeling right now is gratitude. This is an accomplishment!! Few of us can claim this much creativity, effort, and accomplishment. hats off to you, sir. We won’t forget you.

  5. When what you love becomes a chore, it’s time to move on. I will miss the guys. However, you need to take care of you. Please, be well and happy!

  6. My reactions: Sad to see you go. Happy you’re taking care of yourself. Glad that Mike Peterson introduced me. Most of all – grateful for all the stories.

  7. Thanks for everything … it’s been great following all these adventures. Take care of yourself and enjoy some time off!

  8. I feel horrible that I didn’t comment on this when you posted it. Now it’s too late for you to see it. I don’t know what to say beyond THANK YOU, for so many years of this series, for continuing it even when you couldn’t draw it anymore, and finally for being my friend.

  9. Posted today, 3 August 2020, by a friend of Sean’s on Facebook:

I’m sorry to say that our dear friend Sean Martin passed away this morning about six am.

Sean had been suffering from pancreatic cancer for several months and entered hospice care just a few days ago. He passed away, at peace, in his sleep.

Sean requested that there not be any funeral service, but I’m hoping to arrange a Zoom conference where his many friends in the US, Canada, and other countries can get together to remember his life and work.

Sean also requested that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in his name to Safe Haven for Cats in Raleigh, North Carolina.
