    • Scary doesn’t even come close! Boy am I glad I will live in France once I get out of the rat race. They may not be putting men on the moon or mars but I dare believe their parliament is actually a little focused on things that might count for the common of mortals. Mind you their main parties seem to be as incapable of considering any ideas but their own as most political partes worldwide are these days. Mariage equality is only happening because one party, the socialists, have a solid majority in both chambers and their man is President too. You bet you you-know- what the right is as against it as can be and suddenly seems to feel the question should be put to a referendum. Why for peace’s sake? The president got elected with this promise clearly on the agenda. The people voted for the socialists and mariage equality was par of the promises they voted on. … Unless of course you find it completely incomprehensible, even against the rules, that a politician actually delivers on at least one electoral promise.
Since the boys seem to be planning to move back to Canada, why don’t you send them on vacation to France so they can discover some of the delights of the place; like the gay Lord Mayor of Paris or extremist right wing city councils in other places?
