Of all my guys, Mik is perhaps the most challenging to write. He’s so much in love with someone he knows he cant have, and that colours his interactions with Ray at almost every turn. He wasnt supposed to be this way: in the beginning, he was just one of Ray’s bar friends — one of those loud but friendly drunks that you really want in your corner when things get uneasy. But like all the others, Miks arc has taken him on a much different path, one that’s been almost as surprising for me as some of you, I’m sure. His first encounter with Al, for example, wasnt so much sexual attraction as it was sexual challenge: two alpha males in heat. But of course it evolved beyond that, creating a thruple that has its own share of surprises on occasion (Al? Bisexual? Who knew?).

I never really understood why Mik stepped out of the relationship on occassion. I just knew he did, but I rolled with it until Mik decided to clue me in. God only knows what else is going on inside that head of his. I guess someday we’ll find out.

And this isnt an ending so much as a pause in Mik’s story. We still have more gathering to do before everyone pours into Québec City to see Elliot’s film. So tomorrow… a crisis of faith…
