Reminds me of my first steps into l’eglise d’Castelneau du Riviere-Basse in Gascony where my paternal ancestors are buried back through Charlemagne and Charles Martel. The Cathoholic church does keep good records even through the occasional revolution or Dark Age! I was pretty stunned by it back then in the 1980s, but moreso now when people react to it. Especially being such a devout atheist!
