We’re gonna leave Elliot to tinker with the fine details of his forthcoming blockbuster (which you will see this summer, I promise!) — as well as leave politics aside for a while. Frankly, the whole politicla mess in the US has consumed far more global energy than it merits. IMHO, the choice has really never been clearer, and with each passing day, with more and more Republicans having buyer’s remorse and more and more historically conservative newspapers giving the nod to Mrs. Clinton, I’m going to be shocked and surprised if he gets even 20% of the vote…

… which raises, of course, the Big Question: why is he doing this? Oh, not the run for president thing — it’s always been a given that he was doing that for the ego strokes. But now, with his ego getting slammed on every conceivable front, what does Teh Donald have to gain by continuing this mad folly? The conspirator in me thinks that all of this has been engineered from the start: there’s a funny video from Cracked.com that portrays his campaign as a joke that’s gone too far, even for him, and ends with him sobbing because he actually got the nomination. It certainly rings more true than anything else: I cant remember any politician (and yes, now he is one) making such an incessant stream of idiotic, brain-dead remarks and still expecting to win. Insulting the parents of a soldier killed in battle? Can it possibly go any lower than that?

And yet somehow, as we all know, it will…..
