Big discussion north of the border is over the budget that the Conservatives are probably going to pass (Bear in mind, American readers, that Conservative in Canada is remarkably different from conservative in the US. Our Conservatives are almost likable, while yours are… well, yours — but we digress…): one of the big, big issues is a bunch of fighter jets that the Ministry of Defence bought, for no real useful reason, only to see the price tag blossom by over 60%… again, for no real useful reason… even as everything else the government controls was slashed and burned. Doesnt augur well for the next election (parallels of the US *would* be appropriate here), so herewith is my take on how certain things in Canada will just have to adjust…
