I think I may have said this before (and stop me if I have), but Mik is arguably one of my favourite characters to write for in this strip. The guy is so screwed up and so much in love with someone he knows he cant have — while at the same time just as much in love with the two he *does* have. He just cant accept, for whatever reason, that it’s all okay… or maybe now he has, with his Raider-surrogate in David. We’ll see. There’s a few more roads for this boy to travel before he figures that out, I think.

But then, these three are pretty much writing the rules as they go anyway. I know a couple of thruples, and the dynamics in each relationship is very different: one is pretty much wide open, with everyone getting a shot at anything in pants, while another is almost fiercely closed. These guys are somewhere in the middle of that continuum, just open enough to let Mik do his thing when those forces inside drive him to, and yet closed so the other two can keep their sanity about it all.

… which probably isnt all that different from your standard-issue couple, come to think of it.

OK, a bit of buffer, then we’ll head into a new storyline in a few days: Doc finally admits defeat in the writing thing and gets a “real job”. But of course it cant be just any ol’ job, right? 🙂
