Like so many others, I look forward to the day when this is considered a part of the past that we look on in shame and bewilderment, as we wonder why anyone should have to die just for being who they were.
Maybe someday.
In the meanwhile, Aiko, his man Louis, and all the rest of us pause for a moment to remember.
(BTW: yes, I know this is the Day of Visibility. But remembrance is part of that visibility, so let’s keep that in mind as well.)
