You know how it is: you get so wrapped up in things that you forget to note what’s important. Somehow, about halfway through the recent Liz/Philip story, we hit 1500 — and I completely missed it. 🙂 Still, never too late to celebrate a milestone with my dozen or so faithful readers, right?
And what an interesting voyage it’s been over the last 1500 panels and strips and stories, everything from Doc’s “dance to China” to Raider’s wacky dreamworld to Elliot and Gilles becoming a family to Mik and Kai… well, for them alone it’s been an intriguing time, right?
God only knows where we’ll go for the next 1500. I learned a long time ago not to predict where my little guys were gonna take me, and I think that’s wise. When I started out with this iteration of the comic, I didnt want to do just another gay comic strip. I wanted it to explore odd corners and delve into things one didnt normally delve into and maybe rattle a few cages while showing that gay couples can be more than just a couple of guys who never seem to own any shirts. 🙂
So we’re on to the next part of the journey, wherever it might wend. Thank you for being here this long and staying with it.
And something else I want to play with, something I found on some of the Japanese bara and yaoi sites — fan art. I’d love to see your interpretations of the guys sometime, and if you have no problem with it, I’d like to occasionally post them here. It can be done anonymously if you wish — or if you want to use it to link to your art/illustration site, I dont mind. So if you want to participate in this, send the image to my email: sean at joey-aristophanes dot com.
And you know the drill by now: click the image above, and a nice, big 1280×800 version is all yours.
Okay, on to the next 1500!!
